Australia’s Biggest Book Group is the most exciting fundraising event of the year. Run by a volunteer committee of dedicated professionals, including doctors, business owners, marketing and media personnel, we aim to raise $1,000,000 in our foundation year..

Lucy Burns, President, ABBG

Dr Lucy Burns was diagnosed with FSHD one of the most common forms of Muscular Dystrophy in adults, in 1987 at the end of her first year of medical school. 

She went on to complete her medical degree as well as a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology and has a fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
She has been working as a GP for the past 15 years and currently works with the defence force at HMAS Cerberus. Lucy also owns and runs a web based business called Better Than Flowers, which delivers chocolate bouquets across Australia.

Lucy is married with 2 daughters.


Selwa Anthony

Selwa’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the Australian publishing industry is second to none.

Not only does Selwa have her own very successful author management agency, but she has written three books - The Lebanese Cookbook, co-authored with her two sisters, and two “little positive thinking books”, Succeed With Me and Wake Up, Shake Up, Stand Up, with Jimmy Thomson.

Selwa is the founder of Australian Voices in Print, a body committed to promoting Australian writers and literature.


Lisa Blundell

With a background in marketing and advertising Lisa brings an expertise to the Australia’s Biggest Book Group committee in the realm of promotion and PR. She has worked in some of the world’s biggest Ad agencies and was Advertising Manager at 7-Eleven head office and then Barlow Group furniture.

She also worked for a year in radio in Toronto. Lisa then ran her own boutique advertising agency helping small business owners with graphic design and promotion.

As the co-author of Versace Sisters, Lisa will be donating 50% of her royalties from the event to MDA. Lisa is married with four children.
